Back from injury, Dom boxed strong Fulham Brunswick welterweight Tristan Griffiths in an exciting clash in the penultimate bout of the evening. The contest was close throughout and was enthusiastically supported by the large crowd assembled for an afternoon’s amateur boxing. At the final bell it was the Fulham man who received the majority decision but Dom, as usual, did himself and the club proud.

With the matching for this superb show done by Martin Webb, there was a strong showing of Harwich boxers on display. Two of their experienced seniors enjoyed solid performances. Stylish
Lightweight Marcus Poston faced D.Murphy from Brighton City ABC over 3 x 3 minute rounds. Following tight first round, Marcus began to get into his stride and a particularly good end to the second round saw him edge in front. More sharp work in the last saw him secure a unanimous points decision.
Light Welterweight Bradley Hopper, also fought over 3 x 3s against B. White from Finchley. Southpaw, hopper scored well from distance and several accurate lead uppercuts found their mark. White was always dangerous when he forced Bradley back to the ropes. The wily Harwich boxer took the spoils with a unanimous points' decision.
Perhaps the best of the day’s 18 bouts saw another Harwich boxer Alfie Smith engaged in a battle royal with Chadwell’s S. Russell-Meade. After 3 rounds of non stop action, Russell-Meade nicked a majority decision, with the crowd on their feet giving a huge ovation for the efforts of the 2 youngsters.
