 Welterweight "Jerzy" Dudek was in action last night in a thrilling all action affair on the West Ham open show. Home opponent Billy Khan opened strongly to excite his home supporters and dictate that the bout was going to be a tough fight. Jerzy coped well with the pressure and continued to move and counter throughout the opening round, keeping things pretty even come the break. Round 2 started in same frantic way with Jerzy trying to score first in the exchange. This lead some fearsome toe to toe exchanges, during one of which Khan landed heavily to the body and head. As Jerzy tried to evade any follow up, he was caught by a sweeping left hook which dropped him heavily on his side. The referee signalled the contest over before finishing the count and although somewhat stunned, Jerzy was perfectly fine yet disappointed. Unfortunately his resultant 28 day suspension will ensure he misses the home show on 8th May!
