Colchester Amateur Boxing Club members “Gorgeous” George Bird and CJ “The Bulldog” Knibbs made the trip up to Yarmouth to box local boxers on the Kingfisher Amatuer Boxing Club’s dinner show last Wednesday. CJ opened the show against Josh Mace whilst George boxed Billy Potter.

Niamh Beats Champ and Sails Through to the Final

Niamh Barton of Colchester Amateur Boxing Club travelled all the way to Manchester’s Centre for Boxing Excellence to box in the semi-final of the Female Junior ABA championships. Niamh’s opponent was current champion Millie Warren of Wells ABC in Somerset. Despite giving away lots of experience Niamh approached the bout with a positive frame of mind and commanded respect throughout with an impressive display of boxing skills.

It was a busy night for Colchester Amatuer Boxing Club at the annual Harwich ABC open show last Saturday night at the Park Pavilion Dovercourt. CJ “The Bulldog” Knibbs and “Gorgeous” George Bird returned to the ring little more than a week since their last contests, Jack Karadzic got his season up and running after a run of bad luck with opponents pulling out and Reuben “The Magic Man” Gahan returned to fine form after his championship bid in October.

Mason Moves On To The Next Level

Two boxers from Colchester Amateur Boxing Club were in action on Thursday night just a few miles away at Boreham House Hotel on the Chelmsford Amateur Boxing Club dinner show. Mason Jupp entered the ring for a second skills contest in as many weeks against Sean Davidson from Clacton Amateur Boxing Club. Jack “2 Guns” Perry faced home boxer Joe Baisden, in an eagerly anticipated rematch following a convincing victory for Perry earlier in the season.
